Happy Easter! Christ is Risen!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Once again we celebrate Resurrection Sunday – Easter, which is a great source of spiritual renewal for each of us. The liturgy of Easter Sunday leads us to an empty tomb to personally meet the Resurrected Christ. There we proclaim our faith by echoing the words of St. Paul: “For we believe that Jesus died and rose again.”

Easter is not only a commemoration of the events that took place 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem – it is always a powerful call to renew and deepen our faith. Jesus’ resurrection is also an anticipation of our own resurrection and eternal life with God, the angels and saints. May the risen Lord help us to reject fear and anxiety, darkness and despair. May we come to believe that being a Catholic is being a person of hope – a hope that is able to overcome all of the difficulties of our life and also our sins.

Dear parishioners, friends, and guests visiting our parish during this Eastertime: from the depths of my heart, I wish you the Easter joy which flows from encountering the Resurrected Christ. May it fill your heart. Then we may become His true witnesses in today’s world. May the peace and blessings of the Resurrected Christ be with you today and always!

Let’s frequently greet each other these days with these beautiful Christian greetings: Happy Easter and Christ is risen!

In Christ,

Fr. Mark Jurzyk
