December 8 – Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary – A Holy Day of Obligation

On December 8, we honor Mary, our Blessed Mother. The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation – or a Holy Day of Opportunity – a feast that we celebrate in the Church. “Immaculate” means that from the first instant of Mary’s existence, she was in the state of sanctifying grace and free from original sin.  Today, with all of life’s challenges, let us ask Mary to intercede for us to her son and our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Masses will be held at 9 am and at 7 pm.  May God bless you and your families.
